Take That DVD Cover Analysis

This is the DVD cover for Take That's 'The Circus Live'
I chose this DVD cover because I really like the way it represents the band. They are a pop band and this is evident in their DVD cover as there are a lot of bright colours which is a convention seen in pop music videos and CD/DVD covers. During the performance the band walk through the crowd on a giant robotic elephant. This elephant is shown on the DVD cover giving the audience something to relate to and remember the performance. By featuring the most memorable part of the tour people are more encouraged to buy the DVD.
This is something we can incorporate into our DVD cover/Magazine Advert. Although our genre is hip hop, we have focused on bright colour in our video so this is something we can take from this DVD cover and use in our own. The DVD cover has a picture of the band, but they are not the main focus of the cover. We could use the character from our video as the main focus as in the video he was wearing very bright colours.
This DVD cover does not have much information on it but our DVD cover would need to have basic information such as the artists name and the name of the song/video. On the back we could include the name of any extra songs included and perhaps any special features or outtakes.
